Speaker: “Cold Case Investigations” by Detective Scott Minyard, Robbery/Homicide Unit and Cold Case Investigations

A general overview of cold cases: the challenges of investigating homicides, missing persons and unidentified persons.

Detective Scott Minyard began his law enforcement career in 1999. This followed a military career where he served as a United States Marine and a Navy Special Operations Officer, specializing in Bomb Disposal and Diving.

Following military retirement, Scott joined the Wyoming State Highway Patrol where he served as a State Trooper and completed assignments as a Division Supervisor and the supervisor of the Governor’s Security Detail.

Moving back to Texas with his wife Debbie, Scott served with the Austin County Sheriff’s Office with assignments to Patrol, Patrol Supervisor, and the Special Response Team (SRT).

Detective Minyard joined the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office in 2014 and has worked as a Detective with assignments in Family Violence, Special Crimes, and Robbery/Homicide. He began working Cold Case investigations in 2020.
