June E. Rives will sign and discuss Peril in Paris ($14.95; Fulton Books).
Entrepreneur and Author June Rives took her own leap of faith when she moved to Paris. She sold her successful public relations business and planned to live in the city she had loved since age 16 for 1 year. That relationship has turned into a lifetime.
She wrote her first book, non-fiction, called “Merci, Monsieur…A guide for living in la belle France” in 2004. She loved the experience and the positive feed- back she received. That encouraged her to write her first novel, “Paris Perfect”, published in 2017. “Peril in Paris” is the second in the Punkin Lowery series and debuted in October 2019. June is currently working on the third and final novel in the trilogy called “Purgatory in Paris.” She feels the inspiration of Paris, and the myriad of interesting characters she encounters.
She was a resident of France for 11 years, and now returns often with her real estate, travel and vacation rental businesses. June has always been active in the ex-pat community, being Welcome Committee Chair of the American Cathedral of Paris and on the board of the American Club. In her hometown of Houston, she is a member of the French American Chamber of Commerce and the FACC/ Los Angeles. She has been a designated tour operator for the French Government Tourist Office since 1998. She guides wine and food tours of France and Italy, also planning itineraries for those clients traveling on their own in France, Italy and England.
June is the owner of June Rives Public Relations with clients in the retail-consumer fields. Clients have included Air France, Meridien Hotels, Maison Maison Interior Design, Laurie Coton Designs, Boxer Property, and Brennan’s Restaurant.
June is fluent in French, and conversant in Italian.
