The Houston Chapter of Sisters in Crime (SInC) will meet at MBTB monthly. For more information about SInC, please visit https://www.sistersincrime.org/.
Laurie Schnebly will talk about “Psychology for Creating Characters.”
Every character has a background that contributes to their personality. No matter how great they might be, that personality can often create conflict with others, with the situation, AND within themselves. Picture someone shy who has to confront an intruder, someone outgoing who can’t find a companion, or someone tough who’s faced with yielding to authority. See how birth order, priorities, enneagrams and the Jungian types can make your character even more credible — and get them in even more trouble.
Laurie Schnebly was thrilled to discover that her master’s in counseling was useful for building plausible, memorable characters…like those in her second novel, which won “Best Special Edition of the Year” over Nora Roberts. Co-founder of WriterUniv.com, she teaches monthly classes via email at LaurieClass@groups.io.
